This is getting less humorous by the day:

Confusion Grows Over Trump’s Nuclear Plan After Possible Hint of ‘Arms Race’

Donald Trump’s newly announced press secretary tried to clarify his bosses’ stance on nuclear proliferation after a surprising tweet and a reported conversation Trump had with a cable news host.

Questions about President-elect Trump’s stance on nuclear arms had been raised throughout the campaign and arose again Thursday when Trump tweeted that the U.S. “must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes.”

To wit:

Mika Brzezinski, co-host of Morning Joe on MSNBC followed up in a phone conversation with President-elect Trump. According to the ABC news broadcast from Friday, Brzezinski and the other co-host, Joe Scarborough, repeated what they heard from Trump:

“Let it be an arms race. We will outmatch them at every pass,” Brzezinski said.

“And outlast them all,” Scarborough said.

All right, boys and girls. If this be thermonuclear war make the most of it. When it comes time for you to duck and cover, I will let you know.

  1. Here’s how I read this.

In one of the ‘instructional’ sit-down meetings organized to acquaint the new ‘accidentally-on-purpose’ Preznit with established policy and protocol, he was pointedly told to cut out the ‘close the foreign bases’ ‘make them pay for it’ rhetoric. That is not in the script.

Instead, the current ‘let’s-spend-them-into-the-grave’ course of action will be continued (using other people’s money, of course, just like any smart Mafiosi). Note that the Puffy Orange One did not advocate any declaration of war or risky nuclear action (something he did do during the campaign: ‘If we have nuclear weapons why aren’t we using them?’)

He is simply assuring the MIC that the ‘jobs-jobs-jobs’ will continue to flow unceasingly. Not yours or mine, of course: we don’t count. And don’t keep nagging about the B-52 crews whose standard of living has been degraded sharply over the decades, as all the traditional services available to an [underpaid] military are privatized and cut back.

Boeing rejoice. Lockheed stop sulking. The party will continue. We need more overkill.
