Don’t Bump The Trump

One of a series

A warning for those who chance to meet a wild Trump coming home late at night, past a graveyard, all alone in a storm: Don’t bump the Trump. [With apologies to Shel Silverstein.]

Previously I aimed this series of posts at the humor of a narcissistic businessman vying for a job that requires more than an ounce of real character. Now I’m leaving the high road and will be calling things as they are. In the meantime, I have this to say. Thank you, Mr. Trump. It’s the nicest thing anybody’s ever done for me.Thank you very, very, very much!

Self-obsessed billionaire Donald Trump earlier snatched the campaign torch from the Republican Party by scooping up conservative America’s low-hanging fruit. Full disclosure: it’s something I proclaimed over a year ago could not be done. I was wrong! How wrong? Very wrong. Little did I realize that even Republicans don’t like him:

Trump surrogate and CNN commentator Scottie Neil Hughes got angry with fellow commentator Ana Navarro tonight for directly quoting Donald Trump’s “grab them by the pussy” line. It did not end well for Scottie Neil Hughes.

Yeah, man. When your guy brags about grabbing them by the pussy, and somebody starts repeating it, not in a complimentary way, you are bound to lose your cool. Navarro, who earlier in the current campaign cycle I became accustomed to watching as she attempted to hoist a sinking Jeb Bush back above water, is not one to take the kind of shit Trump peddles. She’s been unloading on him for days:

Navarro, who’s also a Republican strategist, did not hold back. She said:

“Well, let me do it again, and let me do it in two languages: Es un racista. He is a flat-out racist and it’s what he’s played on for 16 months. He is a bigot. He is a racist. He is a misogynist. He has said horrible things about women. He has said horrible things about immigrants, about Hispanics. He has yet to say one good thing about immigrants … Republicans need to speak up and people need to know that not all Republicans are represented by the hostile, vile voice of Donald Trump.”

The entire exchange, in the video above, is worth watching, though the bilingual fireworks start around about one minute, 50 seconds into the clip.

Tonight is the “town hall” broadcast featuring Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, and it promises to be white knuckles, in light of the most recent Trump scandal. I hope to watch, because I suspect what might happen:

Moderator: “Mrs. Clinton, aren’t you going to say anything?”

Clinton: “I apologize. I’m still trying to wipe this shit-eating grin off my face.”

Yeah, it’s game on. We are going to have more fun between now and November. We can be assured Donald Trump will never fail to entertain us.

Continue reading. And may Jesus have mercy on your soul.

  1. I rather imagine that The Donald is finally feeling an awkward pressure that he never expected, when he began this fun game of knocking over bozos (Bush, Cruz et al). Little fun quips that he never imagined would come back to haunt him. Locker-room stuff that all the boys joke over.

This is a campaign for the Presidency. Lot of folks are watching, and wading in with their observations (and documentation, and recordings).

It may indeed be that TD did not fully realize the amplitude of the game he is now playing. It is serious. And for keeps.

Even if he wins he will be seriously damaged goods. (Of course Ms. ‘It’s my turn’ already holds that honor).
