Quiz Question

One of a continuing series

With the advent of the atomic bomb over 70 years ago and the coming of nuclear power, uranium has become a sought after item. A dictionary from 100 years ago described uranium as “a worthless white metal found in the western United States.” This week’s Quiz Question is, how much uranium is there? I’m making this a multiple choice. Here it is:

To the best approximation, on average, in a mass of soil covering one acre and one foot deep, how much uranium is there?

  • 4 micrograms
  • 4 milligrams
  • 4 grams
  • 4 kilograms
